The Coronavirus brought dental care to a halt (only available for emergency dental care) on March 16, 2020. There were various concerns from dental hygienists all throughout San Diego, with a top priority in regards to the insufficient supplies of personal protective equipment (PPEs), and the reopening of dental practices.
CDHA SD President, Trish Thomas immediately went into action for the safe return of the dental hygienists. She contacted NBC 7 to stop by her office to see for themselves the shortage of PPE supplies dental practices were facing. She reached out to the President of the San Diego County Dental Society (SDCDS) to have a conversation regarding these concerns, and by phone attended the San Diego Board of Supervisors Meeting.
